How are you all? This is one idea I regularly use to sequence and scaffold skills for beginner string players... CASPA- ha ha yes I’m crazy but we know that!
Caspa is a friendly cartoon ghost from my childhood, and also has different meanings in other languages! After leading an early childhood string teaching course for ESTA Espana, I discovered that Caspa in Spanish means dandruff! ;) lol
Today I'm sharing it with you as an acronym and I tend to work through pieces with my littlies using this sequence:
C. Clap the rhythm
A. Choose an action…Action could be anything from body percussion to stomping like Stringosaurus to bouncing a ball!
S. Sing the notes
P. Play it pizz
A. Finally play it Arco!
What do you think? Is this similar to what you do???
Warmest regards, Laura
