A little message to you Friend,
I have so many amazing, highly experienced violin teachers approach me looking for guidance…
They might have several decades of teaching experience, but may never have taught under the age of 7 or have little experience.
This often leads them feeling daunted, overwhelmed and perhaps a little vulnerable.
If this sounds like any of you then I want you to know something… You absolutely DO have the skills to teach younger students, it’s just a case of adapting as you would for any individual.
Teaching early childhood is all about understanding, connection and a gentle, flowing energy.
It’s about exploration and investigation and being spontaneous, knowing when to scrap a plan and follow the child’s lead.
It’s about having a wide variety of teaching materials in your toolkit to dip in and out of.
It’s about incorporating movement into lessons with understanding of how it will help calm or reenergise a lesson.
I am passionate about helping all teachers, because I know how grateful I am when I receive help and guidance too. I am experienced, but there are so many areas in my teaching which I want to improve on. It’s ok to ask for help.
Reach out and I would love to have you as one of my Teachosauri! They are based all over the world and range from in their 20s-60s! You’re never too old to become a Teachosaurus!!
