Dear Friend,
Some good news for Brisbane-based writers, we have another project running in Brisbane thanks to the Brisbane City Council's Creeks & Waterways department called, Outdoor Reads!
Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open for writers interested in taking part in the Outdoor Reads project.
We are looking for three Brisbane-based writers to join out production team to create games, nature walks and historical locative fiction in 3 Brisbane parks.
Each writer will be paid $1500 (inclusive of GST), and all short-listed writers will be invited to attend a PD workshop on digital writing and locative literature.
Applications close at midday 23rd of July 2015.
You can find out more about Outdoor Reads 2015 below: Stories To Be Launched October 2015 In this project we aim to make our creeks and waterways sought after locations to visit and engage with. We will do this by activating three of Brisbane’s parks via games and interactive narrative delivered on the Story City App. Story City takes the reading experience from the traditional printed page and delivers it to smart phones and mobile devices. Through the Story City locative app, readers are guided on a trail to unravel and explore Brisbane’s parks with a story of their own choosing.
Outdoor Reads will showcase the work of three local writers. Outdoor Reads is presented by Story City and an initiative of the Brisbane City Council.
The three parks we'll be activating are:
• 7th Brigade Park in Chermside (known for its Anzac history), • JC Slaughter Falls at the Mt Coot-tha Reserve, and • Hanlon Park in Greenslopes.
We look forward to your applications. We have more EOIs due to go out in the next month so stay tuned!
Warmly,
Emily
