Hi Friend,
You survived your first create-a-thon (CAT). Congrats!! We we so floored by how much talent was in the room, and how much you completed in 2 short days. Thanks for bearing with us as we took time to recover from 2 create-a-thons and a conference!
We'd love your feedback on the event in this short form, it will only take 5-10mins and would mean the world to us!
But this is only the beginning of the fun!
*Any team registrants make sure you forward this to your team mates so they don't miss out.
There Are 3 Additional OpportunitiesYEG Dignity Mini-Challenge (Due April 30th - $100 Cash): While we didn't award this during the event because we didn't get any finished stories that included the YEG Dignity mural location, anyone who wishes to incorporate this mural into their story before April 30th is still up to win the challenge. Just hit publish on your story before April 30th, and Flick us an email to emily@storycity.app and tim@storycity.app so we know you want to be considered!
Polish Your Stories for the People's Choice Award (Due May 17th - $500 Cash): That's right, this weekend wasn't the end. We'll be sending out feedback to each team on what they've made so far, and you have the next 6 weeks to polish it up to perfection for the summer launch of the City of Edmonton project. There will be a massive marketing push from the City across the summer to the app (and your stories as a result), To win the People's Choice Award you must be a CAT attendee, have started your story during the CAT, and have the most plays out of any CAT story to win the People's Choice Award. The results will be tallied and the winner announced at the beginning of September. All you need to do is hit publish before May 17th. You can choose to list your story for a price over the summer, or have it free to let it have as wide an accessibility as possible.
Creator Blank Walls Mural Opportunity (Due April 25th - commission): You can find the blank walls list at this document if you wish to create proposals for murals in the Quarters. The City is hoping from these selection to either commission physical murals or pay for their use in a potential light projection festival. Just mail your finished art proposals, along with a short paragraph describing your inspiration for the work to emily@storycity.app by April 25th EOD.
More EventsIt's super important to us at Story City that this isn't where the community building ends.

Thurs 11th April 4-5pm | Mon 22nd April 6-7pm | Weds 8th May 4.30-5.30pm
We'll be running 3 editorial support sessions over the next 6 weeks as you attempt to hone your master pieces (or perhaps create new ones!). Mark them in your calendar! We'll send more details closer to the first session, but they will be online.
Sticker Party & Mentor Hour
Sat 18 May 1-3pm
We'll get together to hear short talks from our create-a-thon alumni about their craft (let us know if you're interested in sharing some of your wisdom!) and taking QR code stickers to scatter across the city at each of your team's story locations to help the public discover your story. Bring your friends and family to maybe even test your loop if you wish!
Any Questions, please let us know!
See you all soon!
Warmly,
Emily & Story City
