Hi Friend,
We sincerely hope that you are safe, and well, and getting the support you need during this hard time.
We know a lot of you, particularly our artists, are hurting. We hope that those of you who have the means will consider supporting your favourite artists on Patreon, use the Amazon links on their website to buy your essentials (and get them some referral fees from the behemoth!) or maybe by grabbing an extra book or two more than you normally would.
At Story City, we're hoping we can help out the non-profits in our extended network also get some extra support and exposure during this time, and for that we need your help.
Do you know a not-for-profit, academic with social research, or other type of social enterprise trying to do good in the world? We would really appreciate it if you could forward this email to them and let them know about the launch of our Story City Social Impact Projects.
Our award-winning platform and team are volunteering 50+hrs of our time and resources to bring their stories and the stories of those they help to life via interactive experiences, providing them with the ability to literally put the public in the shoes of your cause. Whether they help homeless veterans, residents of a region in historic conflict, a countryside newly ravished by fire, or refugees without access to education, if they're looking to help marginalised people and those in need to have their voice heard, we can help.
They can find out more here: https://www.storycity.com.au/work-with-story-city/story-city-social-impact-project/
Applications are now open to projects across the world and close May 17th 2020.
At Story City we want to empower local people to tell stories that will change another’s world view, to redefine stories so they’re something you’re a part of, rather than something you’re told. We want to sincerely thank all of you for your support, and thank our Community Mentors who stepped up, without them we couldn't have launched this project normally, let alone during a pandemic.
Stay safe everyone, and if you get a bit of cabin-fever and use Story City to keep you company on a walk, please remember to:
- go home if things are too crowded in that location, and if not,
- to keep 2m between you and other humans, and
- wear a face mask if you're in a house that's quarantining.
Together we can stay sane AND stop the virus from spreading.
Warmly,
Emily
