Subject: Do you have to do EVERYTHING in the Mentoring program?

Hi,

It's me again! I have another common question to answer about the mentoring program.

Do you have to do EVERYTHING in the Mentoring program?

Short answer: no!

You can think of the Mentoring program as the fancy buffet at the Bellagio in Las Vegas: there is a lot of amazing food, but you have to select what you need to consume!

:)

All joking aside, there is alot in the program; from the Lizard Wizard, the coding courses ... Python, Freelancing etc ... But that doesn't mean everyone needs to do everything there.

If for example, you already know HTML5, then you probable don't need to do that course. That said, I cover MORE than HTML5 in the HTML5 course ... so you may want to just quickly review it.

Certification Exams

Another option for people coming to the program with some coding skill, just do the certification exams. If you pass them, then you know for sure that you don't need to do the courses.

Pick and choose YOUR PATH!

Everyone comes to the program with their set of skills and experience. So everyone should use the program in a way that makes sense for them.

... Whether you do all the course from the basics of code, or you just do the Python and then jump to the portfolio side of things, is up to you.

Don't feel obligated to do something you don't need to do. BUT ... don't skip something because you think is hard, or you THINK you will not need to know it. If you KNOW it already, skip it. But if you don't know it, DO IT.

There is a method to my curriculum and it is all designed and put together for a reason.

Hope that helps!

Stef
