To be fair, according to the article, the other practical skills they expect them to learn is designing and research.
... Bottom line, practical skills win.
Learning to code is a super power
As I have been saying for years now, learning to code is a super-skill you ought to learn. Even if you don't plan to be a coder. It's just so valuable a skill to have.
