Yesterday, one of the most beautiful human beings on this planet passed away.
Elie Wiesel, a holocaust survivor and author who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986, was a ray of light and greatness who believed in the good in man.
What makes a man like Elie Wiesel so extraordinary? What can he do that so many of us are incapable of?
He used his personal suffering to give voice to the voiceless, to make a huge positive impact on mankind, to motivate others to better themselves, that was his power.
He stood up against presidents and prime ministers when he saw injustice, he always inspired people to make a difference.
One person of integrity can make a difference.
Elie Wiesel made a difference and did it with grace.
And then I think, do I always act with grace? Very, very often I do.
But then I think about the recent difficulties in closing down my other business, and how disappointed I was in the behavior of some of my employees.
Do I forgive them, absolutely, this will not impact my personal well being, but why was it impossible to overcome my disappointment at certain moments and deal with the situation?
Sometimes I just block, I feel so hurt by betrayal and my feelings block and apparently, I need a moment to process internally what happened before I can move on. And that's ok, I learned so much from it.
I learned that it is not what they supposedly did to me, no, it is about how I learned look at it, detach, accept myself in the process, forgive and move on as the loving person that I am.
Trying to live with love and grace... Grace is one of the most beautiful traits that a person can have, Elie Wiesel had it, Nelson Mandela had it, Mahatma Ghandi had it, Martin Luther King Jr. had it, acting with grace, acting without being obsessed by our own little perspective...
I wish you a graceful and beautiful Sunday. Lots of love, Barbara.
