Last week particularly, there was an incident in our house, that reminded me to take things more lightly now and then.
One night, my oldest daughter, was cooking dinner as I was still working on my laptop, and asked me if I could take over since she was not feeling too well. I took over but was a little distracted and ruined the complete dinner.
My oldest was really angry at me and yelling how I spoiled the entire evening, at the same time, my husband and son were quarreling.
At a certain moment, my middle daughter, who is a quiet soul, bursted into laughter and said: "Waw, I don't have to go to the movies, what I am witnessing here is like a funny movie, everybody yelling and discussing".
And all of a sudden, all of us realized how ridiculous we were behaving and started laughing also.
A ruined dinner is not the end of the world :)
So later that evening, as I was looking back on the day, I saw how often we take things far too seriously, making drama's and upset where it is not necessary.
Taking things lightly, laughing at ourselves now and then, is very healing, it puts things in perspective.
And that's what I wanted to share with you on this Sunday night.
As always loving you,
