Subject: Abid...

Hi,

I hope you are doing very well and wanted to share this with you.

These last weeks, since I came home from Italy in August, have been extremely busy.

For the last 10 days I was at a fair in Belgium. And I have to say, I LOVE fairs, you have the possibility to connect with a lot of new people, you meet people again that you didn't see for a while, it is always fun.

But this year something magical happened.

As I was standing there, watching people pass by, saying hello, I felt a deep connection with EVERYONE who was passing by. I smiled at everyone, knowing that they have the same divine essence as me.

And it worked miraculously, lots of people reacted that they had never seen such a beautiful smile, other business owners stopped by and thanked me for my daily kind words and smile.

So why am I telling you this?

At noon, I went for my food at a Pakistani caterer. Abid was the cook, a very friendly young man who started talking immediately, telling me that the chicken Tikka Massala would be something for me. And indeed, it was delicious!!!

Later that day, he came visiting me at my stand, and we talked, a conversation that turned from small talk into him telling his life story. It was really amazing, he was such a beautiful soul who had gone through so much already, lost both his parents at a young age, had to come to Europe to survive, ...

In the evening I was thinking back about our conversation and decided to make a fine little painting for him with the text how every encounter in life is a holy encounter. I included a picture of the painting here below...
PICTURE PAINTING FOR ABID
So the next morning I gave him the painting and he was so grateful, telling me that this was the FIRST time in his life that somebody gave him a present, that it was the FIRST time in his life that he felt so valued as a human being.

I even get the chills now thinking back at that moment. I couldn't have received a greater gift that day, knowing that with a kind word, a simple gesture, we can make the world a better place.

And did I see people with sour faces at the fair?
I surely did, but I decided to look beyond that, to see that they also have an inner light, an inner child that yearns to be valued and appreciated.

I can say, it makes life a lot easier to let our stories behind and live life from this place.

Am I in that place all of the time? No, I am not, I am running a business, raising three children and having a household. All these things bring along challenges, some days it is easy to put things in perspective, live from the place of love and other days my hormones are messed up, I get overwhelmed and it takes me a few hours or days to know that everything is ok and to surrender to the beauty of this life.

So grateful to be able to share this with you.

Sending you love,
Barbara.

PS normally, and hopefully, my home study coaching program should be FINALLY ready for next week, I'll keep you posted :)
