August has been an exciting month for us - we are delighted to announce that Staf have been awarded three years' funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to work with members and their care experienced young people to support the development of a benchmarking tool for relationship-based practice. Heriot-Watt University's Institute for Social Policy, Housing and Equalities Research (I-SPHERE) has published a new report on supported lodgings, exploring the feasibility of long-term community hosting as a response to youth homelessness in Scotland. You can read the report here. |

Funded by Life Changes Trust, the Citizens Theatre are offering young care experience people the opportunity help create their own company. Running over the next two years and working hand in hand with theatre professionals, the new company will learn and develop the skills to shape and manage their own company and take it into the future. Managers' Forums and Practitioners' Gathering
This autumn’s series of managers’ forums focus on how we as a community of managers seek to develop our services, reacting to policy and sector developments and giving weight to the views of the children and young people we work with. - Managers' Forum (Stirling) 11th September 2018 at the Albert Halls, Stirling
At this forum we will discuss what we can learn and implement from the findings and recommendations outlined in the Frameworks Institute report on Mapping the Gaps between Expert and Public Understanding of Care Experience and the Care System in Scotland, and explore the Age of Criminal Responsibility (Scotland) Bill to understand how the changes to the minimum age of criminal responsibility will affect our services.

This PG is a special Care Leavers Week event, taking practitioners and young people on a journey through understanding the impact of stress on our bodies and how relaxation can help boost our confidence and self-esteem.
