Following two online Conferences, we are so excited to be back in person at the wonderful Stirling Court Hotel on Wednesday 23rd November. Rather aptly this year, we will be focusing on the importance of relationships with a particular focus on friendships and how they, and having a trauma aware approach to work, can make a huge impact on the outcomes of care experienced people and the workforce who support them and ensure we can all #KeepThePromise.
This year we are delighted to welcome our keynote speaker Dr Autumn Roesch- Marsh, senior lecturer in Social Work at the University of Edinburgh with her presentation: Relationship based practice: widening the frame to consider friendship.
We are also thrilled to announce that Michelle McClintock, Senior Practitioner (Pathways Reviews) at Aberdeenshire Council will be leading our afternoon practice session as she shares how she and her team have transformed the way that pathway assessments and reviews are carried out by applying relationship and trauma aware practices to their processes.
As this is our first in person event in quite some time, we are also ensuring we have plenty of time for everyone to reconnect and create new bonds and opportunities for learning, and that, of course, care experienced voice is at the heart of the day. We will close with inputs from the care experienced people we have been working with and learning from with their views on the value of friendships and how to stay connected.
Additional speakers will be announced in due course.
Finally, there will be an opportunity to visit those exhibiting at the Conference, as you enjoy a cuppa, before and during the event. So far, we have representatives from MyBnk, Aberlour, Scottish Social Services Council, Care Inspectorate, Kibble, Inspiring Scotland and our headline sponsor, Link Living, signed up to share their work. If you wish to join them as exhibitors, you can find out more here.
We can’t wait to have everyone back together to share, connect, learn and hopefully create some new or cement existing friendships.
