Hi everyone,
Welcome to another issue of the Solar Quotes weekly newsletter - please feel free to forward it on to others.
SQ blogger Ronald has published two interesting articles relating to electric vehicles this past week; one relating to electric car subsidies and another examining claims from Liberal MP Craig Kelly that EVs result in more greenhouse emissions than conventional petrol cars.
While on the topic of Mr. Kelly, it was recently reported he was the driving force behind the oddly-named "Monash Forum," a collective of MP's attempting to squash solar subsidies and revive coal power in Australia, which would include a taxpayer-funded "Hazelwood 2.0".
I know we write on Mr. Kelly's antics a bit, but it's really hard not to. He certainly makes Australia's energy scene more interesting and colourful.
In other news, investment in renewables in Australia was up 147 per cent last year, with solar power accounting for more than half the total invested. There's also perhaps a worrying trend of roofs in Australia being constructed that are unable to support solar panels.
