Hi everyone,
Australians will soon be able to get their hands on the LG NeON H solar
panel range designed for residential rooftops. LG has previously said the NeON H
is the most efficient panel it has ever
created - and while this is a bit of a stretch, it does look pretty impressive.
While on the topic of solar panels, unfortunately not all panels installed in
Australia have been of good quality. Among the issues is the use of backsheet
materials that can't handle what Australian conditions throw at them. Here's
a new product designed to extend the service life of solar panels with damaged
backsheets. It's an interesting product, but an ounce of prevention is worth a
pound of cure as they say - so choose good
quality panels from the outset.
For the energy storage fans among you, a flywheel-based system said to be the first of its type in Australia has been
recently completed for a school in New South Wales.
And in case you missed it last week, the SolarQuotes Australian Solar Price
Index has been launched. Updated in real-time, this tool indicates the average price paid over time for rooftop solar power system installations across the whole of Australia and in individual states; based on installation date. You can also drill down to see figures for specific system sizes, and systems with various brands of panels and inverters.
Check it out here.
