Today we have the pleasure of offering you two classic wines from the western Sonoma Coast. Originating from a truly unique, cool climate estate, both of these wines look to the old world for inspiration but also speak to the the truly individual terroir from which they come.
Peay's vineyards are of the truly far-western Sonoma Coast, only three miles from the Pacific Ocean, at the top of the second mountain ridge from the ocean, where the vineyard is exposed and coastal influence is extreme. The cold air from the Pacific is one of the primary factors that helps to preserve the fresh natural acidity in their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The Scallop Shelf Pinot Noir 2017 is an exceptionally terroir driven wine with very fresh acidity and mouth-watering salty minerality. Bright red fruit is a major component, particularly strawberry and red cherry, with whiffs of savory herbs and spice. The name Scallop Shelf comes from the fact that the vineyard is planted on an ancient sea bed and, upon planting the vineyard, many fossilized Scallop shells were discovered throughout the soil structure.
The Estate Chardonnay 2017 has a very similar acid and mineral profile, but has a touch more weight and richness. This Chardonnay also gives off a bouquet of savory herbs, lemon oil and pear. It truly reminds us of a high-quality Corton-Charlemagne.
Additionally, we are offering exceptional prices when you purchase 3 or more bottles of these two very limited and exceptional wines from Peay Vineyards. The Scallop Shelf Pinot Noir goes down to $59.95 and the Estate Chardonnay goes down to $51.95. We were only able to procure a small quantity, and they will sell quickly. |

| | Peay Vineyards Pinot Noir Scallop Shelf 2017 Price: $64.95 3+ Mix Discount: $59.95
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Estate Scallop Shelf is distinguished by its bright, focused personality and energy. As it often is, the Scallop Shelf is a wine of reserve and tension, showing plenty of savory and mineral character and less overt fruit than some of the other wines in the range. The 2017 is likely to require at least a few years to come into its own, but it is super-impressive."

| Peay Vineyards Chardonnay Estate 2017 Price: $54.95 3+ Mix Discount: $51.95
"The 2017 Chardonnay Estate is quite deep and almost phenolic in its sense of structure. This a rare Chardonnay that absolutely demands cellaring. Sage, almond, dried pear, chalk, mint, lemon confit and crushed rocks develop with time in the glass, but the 2017 is a wine that will need at least a few years in bottle to start drinking well. Readers should be in no rush."
