| "The [2018] wines have turned out very well: this is a serious vintage chez Roty, its generous fruit tones combined with ample reserves of rich, powdery tannin, and even the regional appellations will reward bottle age. While there's no asperity to these wines' structure, they are very much made for readers who appreciate classic, vin de garde red Burgundy and are willing to wait for it to mature. Roty describes them as 'tachant et attachant' — which translates, the pun being lost in the process, as "[palate-] staining and endearing.""
