Welcome to Spectrum’s 2015 summer live auction! The summer season is one of enjoyment and relaxation. Folks around the world take pleasure in such sundry activities as boating, camping, hiking and traveling. Patio and poolside dining move to the forefront. Decks become living rooms while beaches turn into homes. The texture of the season is both distinctive and diverse. The same words can be used to describe our sale. Our summer 2015 catalog is replete with a high-quality diversity of distinguished producers, renowned vintages and high-profile regions representing all of the world’s major wine producing countries.

Our sale is once again comprised of two sessions. We begin with the actual live event which takes place on Friday, June 26 at the Anneberg Space for Photography - Skylight Studios. We are happy to return to this unique cultural destination in Los Angeles. The auction (Lots 1-576) will begin promptly at 6 PM. The accompanying internet session closes the following Thursday, July 2. Also at 6 PM. Please be sure to give this portion of the sale serious perusal as it is packed both with bargains and smaller quantity lots. For those interested in bidding on 1-3 bottle lots that are perfect for summer imbibing, this section is a gold mine.

Bordeaux reigns, once again, supreme with any number of superlative bid options from many different consignments. Highlight collections to note are: The Beltway Blue Chip Cellar, The Bordeaux Appreciator’s Collection, The Cellar of a Laguna Collector, The Cellar of a Rocky Mountain Bordeaux Connoisseur, A Compassionate Doctor’s Collection, The eProvenance Collection, The Foxy Collection, The Portolà Cellar and Selections from an MD. Particularly worthy of mention are Lots 560-62 from The Tech Coast Collection which comprise three separate 6-year verticals of Château d’Yquem. That’s eighteen different vintages of this luxurious nectar! All are in pristine condition having been imported direct from the estate in Sauternes!

Burgundy lovers will not be disappointed at the vast array of offerings our sale brings to the floor for bid opportunity. Pay particular attention to: An American Aviator’s Collection, The Artist’s Great Estates Collection, The Calistoga Cache, The Cambridge Collection, The Cellar of a Renowned Sommelier and A Frenchman’s So Cal Cellar. All bring high-quality, blue-chip offerings to bear from renowned and noteworthy producers throughout the Côte d’Ôr, Mâcon and Côte Chalonnaise.

California basks in the sunshine of innumerable glorious lots from all of your favorite names! From the traditionally-styled masterpieces of yesteryear through to such contemporary cult classics as Harlan, Peter Michael, Schrader, Screaming Eagle and Sine Qua Non, this auction has it all! Bid with full confidence on wines from The Newport Beach Wine Geek Collection and The Screaming Eagle Collection as well as Selections from an Accomplished Restaurateur.
Some specific highlights would include Lots 83-85 which comprise intriguing rarities (Clos du Val, Inglenook and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars) from California’s legendary 1974 harvest. The venerable name of Heitz is represented by two historically important and relevant lots from 1978 (Lots 87 and 89) along with a superb two bottle lot of the legendary 1974 Martha’s (Lot 90). Fans of high-scoring, contemporary rarities have numerous bid options from many great consignments including two separate full case lots of the (Robert M. Parker 100 point!) Peter Michael 2012 “Danseuse” Pinot Noir 

Our auction program emulates in no small way Antonio Vivaldi’s Baroque masterpiece, The Four Seasons, in which each movement utilizes a distinct motif to celebrate the singular identity of each season.
