Bailly Lapierre Cremant Rosé
NV Bourgogne, France - $16.99
Excellent value for a very well made sparkler that is nice and dry with light yeast in the nose to accompany the rose petal and strawberry notes. It has fine, softer bubbles that caress the palate and balance the lovely red fruit flavors. This is a steal that compares to Rose Champagnes at more than twice the price!
Louis Roederer Brut Premier
NV Champagne, France - $48.99
JS 92 / WA 90
“Just the right amount of reduction here, holding lemon, white peach, wild cherries and more savory notes of spice and grilled nuts really fresh. The palate delivers punchy impact with impressive build and a nicely honed textural thread. Acidity, as ever, is paramount.” James Suckling 92 Points

“Roederer's NV Brut Premier is a classic and blends about 40% Pinot Noir (from Bouzy and Ambonnay), with 20-25% Meunier (whose share is declining in this blend) and Chardonnay. Two-thirds of the grapes come from estate vineyards, one-third is purchased. (Mind you that all the other Roederer cuvées are sourced exclusively form their own vineyards!) The newest release of the Premier is based on 75% 2009 and 25% reserve wines, which are, since 1996, single vintage wines aged in large oak casks between 6,000 and 10,000 liters. Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon holds 160 vats of reserve wines that are stored blank, so without lees, which otherwise would dominate the taste, says Lécaillon. "I don't like the reductive yeast flavors. Instead I am searching for a slightly oxidative and oaky style in my reserve wine." Lécaillon's youngest Premier did not undergo malolactic fermentation. The wine opens very bright, precise and refined, with toasty and white chocolate flavors. Absolutely delicate and elegant on the palate, this is a light, silky textured and remarkably finesse-full Champagne that is fresh on the palate, thanks to its structure and slightly oaky flavors. Excellent.” Wine Advocate 90 Points

Dr. Loosen Dr. L Riesling
2016 Germany - $11.99
“Very fruity and charming. Leaps out at you and has such a playful personality.” James Suckling 90 Points

From the Winery: "This extremely popular introductory wine embodies the elegant and racy style of classic Mosel Riesling. It is refreshing and fruity, with a fine mineral edge that is typical of the region. The grapes used to make Dr. L come exclusively from traditional vineyards with steep slopes and slate soil. By working closely with a select group of growers on long-term contracts, brothers Ernst and Thomas Loosen are able to ensure excellent quality in every vintage."
Joseph Swan Cuvee de Trois Pinot Noir
2014 Russian River Valley, CA  - $34.99
From the Winery: "At its core is cherry, and red apple with hints of spice a touch of bramble. In the mouth it bursts with juicy fruit, balanced by 25% new oak. And moderate acidity. It is long, rich and well balanced. Like all of the Cuvée de Trois blends, the emphasis is on creating a wine that drank well upon release but one that is surely capable of rewarding some cellaring."

Nice complex nose with cherries and creamy lees. Great red fruit flavors with a core of cherries with a little vanilla in the background. This is a lovely, clean, soft and super easy drinking Pinot!
North Valley Reserve Pinot Noir
2014 Willamette Valley, Oregon  - $46.99
JS 94 / WS 93 / VM 92 / WA 90
“Extremely perfumed and vibrant with roses and strawberries plus hints of cherries. Full-bodied, round and velvety yet polished and refined. Beauty and length are paramount here.” James Suckling 94 Points

“Supple, focused, expressive and layered, with cherry, plum, floral and spice flavors that come together seamlessly against refined tannins. The finish lingers impressively.” Wine Spectator 93 Points

“Deep red. Highly perfumed scents of fresh red berries, Asian spices and rose oil. Silky, expansive raspberry, cherry and rose pastille flavors smoothly blend richness and vivacity and gain spiciness with air. Finishes silky, sweet and very long, displaying lingering red fruit flavors and harmonious tannins.” Vinous 92 Points

“The 2014 Pinot Noir Reserve includes 20% whole cluster fruit and is matured in 40% new French oak. The new oak is neatly integrated on the nose, giving the fruit profile a lift, here darker than the regular Pinot Noir with hints of boysenberry and blackberry. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe black cherry and cranberry notes. I like the structure here and the whole cluster works well, lending a little freshness and wildness to the finish. I would just like to see more personality develop in bottle.” Wine Advocate 90 Points

Blankiet Mythicus Cabernet Sauvignon
2013 Paradise Hills Vny, Napa Valley - $224.99
“Graphite, melted road tar, dark spices and black fruit are some of the signatures that emerge in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mythicus. Towering and vertical in the glass, the 2013 possesses magnificent intensity and overall structure. The 100% new oak gives the Mythicus much of its unctuous texture and overall gravitas. Today, the Mythicus is a bit heavy, especially next to the 2014, but it is super-expressive just the same.” Vinous 97 Points

“The 2013 Mythicus is so backward, but a wine of extraordinary intensity. Loads of tannin, massive extract, a blue/purple color, gorgeous purity and overall depth make for a compelling wine, but this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon effort is one for patient connoisseurs.” Robert Parker 96+ Points
