Château de La Greffière
Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Vieilles Vignes 2019
"An impressively complex and balanced wine, with aromas and flavors of pink grapefruit, apple, and peach balanced with lighter brioche and floral notes, followed by a delightfully zesty finish. A real over-achieving wine that delivers outstanding value."
Importer Notes, Weygandt Wines

Domaine Testut
Chablis Côte de Bréchain 2018
"Cyril Testut is a new grower to me in Chablis, but I was very impressed with the few examples of his wines that I was able to taste for this article. His 2018 villages level wines of Côte de Bréchain hails from fifty year-old vines. This lieu á dit is beautifully-situated, lying on the same ridge as Montée de Tonnerre, just to the east of and looking across the very narrow valley at Blanchot. The wine is excellent, with lovely tension on the palate for the 2018 vintage. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a blend of apple, wet stone minerality, straw, citrus peel and a touch of beeswax in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and focused, with fine mineral undertow, a good core of fruit and excellent balance and grip on the long and zesty finish. This is still a puppy and could use a few more years in the cellar to allow its secondary layers of complexity emerge. First class AC!"

Domaine Testut
Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre 2018
"Cyril Testut’s vines in Montée de Tonnerre are more than sixty years of age. The nose of the 2018 is young, pure and very promising, offering up a nascently complex blend of apple, pear, beeswax, a hint of fresh almond, a beautiful base of limestone soils, a hint of lemon zest and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully structured, with a great core of fruit, lovely transparency and bounce, zesty acids and a long, youthful and very, very promising finish. This is a properly reserved example of young Montée de Tonnerre and really deserves at least three or four more years in the cellar before starting to drink the wine, just to let it really start to open up, as there is superb depth waiting in the wings here!"
John Gilman, View from the Cellar

Domaine Bachey-Legros
Santenay 1er Cru Clos des Gravières 2018
"This comes from the lower, northern part of Santenay and is mostly a young vine cuvée. You can hear an echo of nearby Chassagne-Montrachet in the ripeness, richness and texture of the wine, which has flavours and aromas of honey, beeswax and lanolin, complemented by 30% new wood and more than enough acidity and freshness for balance."
Tim Atkin, Decanter

Domaine Dupont-Fahn
Bourgogne Chaumes des Perrières 2018
"Bourgogne “Chaumes des Perrières” has an interesting history, as up until the late-1970s, this lieu à dit above the premier cru of Perrières in Meursault was entitled to Meursault villages status. Raymond Dupont-Fahn’s grandfather, Michel, had bought a parcel here in 1975 and petitioned the INAO to add twenty centimeters of top soil to his unplanted parcel, as the topsoil was so thin that he feared new plantings here would wither and die. The INAO agreed, but the other growers in Meursault were upset and petitioned to have the parcel declassified to Bourgogne from Meursault AC, which they were also successful in doing. So these vines, which sit fifty meters above the Perrières vines of Domaine Coche-Dury are only ranked as Bourgogne!"

Domaine Rapet Père et Fils
Pernand-Vergelesses Les Combottes 2017
"Smoky green apple and citrus aromas give way to racy, bright and delicious flavors where the citrus influence is picked up by the lightly stony, crisp and round finish. This plump and inviting effort should drink well shortly after release."
Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Michel Juillot
Bourgogne Rouge 2018
“A discreet but not invisible touch of wood sets off rustic aromas of both red and dark pinot fruit laced with hints of warm earth and the sauvage. The nicely rich and attractively textured medium weight flavors possess fine volume for a wine at this level, all wrapped in a lingering, complex and slightly warm finale. A good Bourgogne.”
Outstanding, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Michel Juillot
Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Barraults Rouge 2018
“There is a touch of menthol to the distinctly earthy and sauvage-inflected aromas of violet and poached plum. There is very good volume and mid-palate density to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that deliver fine length on the dusty and youthfully austere finale. This too will need at least a few years of bottle age to round off the supporting tannins.”
Outstanding, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Rapet Père et Fils
Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fourneaux 2017
"The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Fourneaux is showing better than its premier cru counterpart, bursting with aromas of plums, raspberries, spices and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to fill-bodied, ample and fleshy, with melting tannin, succulent acids and a flavorful finish."
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Rapet Père et Fils
Corton 2017
"The 2017 Corton Grand Cru unfurls in the glass with aromas of cassis, wild berries, rich forest floor and wood smoke. On the palate, it's full-bodied, dense and powerful, with chewy structuring tannins, impressive depth at the core and a long, expansive finish. This should be long-lived, and it's the cuvée Rapet matured in barrel the longest. From Les Meix and Les Chaumes, lieux-dits below Pougets and just above the village of Aloxe, this is always the more muscular of Rapet's two grand cru reds."
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Domaine Henri Jouan
Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé 2018
“Bursting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, smoked meats, licorice and cassis, the 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbé is medium to full-bodied, rich and nicely concentrated, built around powdery tannins and concluding with a long, sapid finish. . .”
