Domaine Testut Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 2018
"Cyril Testut’s vines in Montée de Tonnerre are more than sixty years of age. The nose of the 2018 is young, pure and very promising, offering up a nascently complex blend of apple, pear, beeswax, a hint of fresh almond, a beautiful base of limestone soils, a hint of lemon zest and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully structured, with a great core of fruit, lovely transparency and bounce, zesty acids and a long, youthful and very, very promising finish. This is a properly reserved example of young Montée de Tonnerre and really deserves at least three or four more years in the cellar before starting to drink the wine, just to let it really start to open up, as there is superb depth waiting in the wings here!"

Dupont-Fahn Bourgogne Blanc Chaumes des Perrières 2019
“Bourgogne “Chaumes des Perrières” has an interesting history, as up until the late-1970s, this lieu à dit above the premier cru of Perrières in Meursault was entitled to Meursault villages status. Raymond Dupont-Fahn’s grandfather, Michel, had bought a parcel here in 1975 and petitioned the INAO to add twenty centimeters of top soil to his unplanted parcel, as the topsoil was so thin that he feared new plantings here would wither and die. The INAO agreed, but the other growers in Meursault were upset and petitioned to have the parcel declassified to Bourgogne from Meursault AC, which they were also successful in doing. So these vines, which sit fifty meters above the Perrières vines of Domaine Coche-Dury are only ranked as Bourgogne!"

Vincent & François Jouard Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 'Les Fairendes' V.V. 2018
"An exotic, expressive Chassagne-Montrachet with a delightfully tropical bouquet of peach, apricot, white flowers, and beeswax. Full-bodied on the palate with excellent balance, character, and length. Grows more complex in the glass, with emerging flavors of citrus and toasted nuts."

Domaine Collotte Marsannay 'Les Grasses Tetes' 2017
"Notes of spicy red berries and cherries introduce the 2017 Marsannay Les Grasses Tetes, a medium-bodied, velvety wine built around tangy acids and powdery tannins. This is one of the more understated wines in the Collotte portfolio this year."

La Ca'Nova Barbaresco D.O.C.G. 'Montestefano' 2017
"Enticing, earthy aromas of iris, camphor and dark-skinned berry mingle with truffle, leather and wild herb on this full-bodied red. Hailing from one of the best sites in Barbaresco, it's firmly structured and incredibly delicious, delivering raspberry compote, ripe Marasca cherry, tobacco and licorice alongside youthfully assertive, noble tannins. This is one for cellaring."

Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Vieilles Vignes 2019
"Moving to the three Gigondas I was able to taste, the 2019 Gigondas Vieilles Vignes comes from a mix of terroirs on the lower plain, around the estate, and is mostly Grenache brought up in larger, very old foudre and concrete tanks. Deep purple/ruby hued, with a beautiful perfume of black raspberries, candied flowers, and sweet garrigue, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a silky texture, great tannins, and plenty of length on the finish. This is a more finesse-driven, silky, elegant wine than past vintages and it's going to drink nicely for over a decade."

Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Les Souteyrades Vieilles Vignes 2019
"Also showing considerable elegance, the 2019 Gigondas Les Souteyrades sports a ruby/purple hue to go with beautiful and exotic notes of black raspberries, kirsch, candied orange, violets, and peppery garrigue. Beautifully balanced, medium to full-bodied, and downright silky on the palate, this heavenly Grenache should be snatched up by readers. It's going to keep for 15 years."

Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas La Louisiane Vieilles Vignes 2019
"The 2019 Gigondas La Louisiane hails from a south-facing slope of clay and sand and is a blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah and Cinsault, all aged in foudre. Loaded with black cherries and mixed berries, it's a big, full-bodied effort that drinks surprisingly well already yet has the concentration, length and structure that should enable it to age another 15 years or more."

Domaine de Ferrand Châteauneuf-Du-Pape 2019
"Beautiful violets, wildflowers, Asian spices, lavender, and Bing cherry fruits all soar from the glass of the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape. This full-bodied, beautifully textured, seamless 2019 brings the richness of the vintage while staying light on its feet, elegant, and perfectly balanced. While the acidity is quite low (I’m sure the pH is quite high), this will age on its balance and concentration. Hats off to Philippe Bravey for another singular Châteauneuf du Pape that readers will love to have in their cellars. As usual, the blend is 85% Grenache, with the balance other permitted varieties, brought up completely in tank. It can be drunk any time over the coming 15 years or more."
