Gérard Boulay Sancerre La Comtesse 2013
". . . from a couple of parcels of fifty year-old vines in the heart of the Monts Damnés, with one section right alongside Edmond Vatan’s Clos la Néore and the other just a touch higher up the slope. The 2013 is outrageously fine, delivering a magically complex nose of lemon, tangerine, cut grass, white flowers, a very complex base of chalky minerality, citrus peel and fresh tarragon. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and so elegant on the attack that it is almost silky in texture, with great mid-palate intensity, superb focus and grip, racy acids and brilliant complexity on the very long and snappy finish. Another absolutely astonishing 2013 Sancerre!" ~ 95+, John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champs Canet 2007
". . . old vines, as the Domaine has owned these fifty-plus year-old vines since very early on in the Domaine’s evolution. The nose on the 2007 is every bit as good as the Truffières, as it delivers a glorious potpourri of apple, lemon, peach, complex chalky and minerally soil tones, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very complex, with great soil inflection, beautiful mid-palate depth and great cut and racy on the snappy and laser-like finish. Another beautiful wine." ~ 94, John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Christian Moreau Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Cuvée Guy Moreau 2007
"From vines planted in 1933 in Vaillons proper. . . more mid-palate concentration and dry extract to the textured and seductive flavors that culminate in a pure, refined and detailed finish brimming with ample Chablis character and impeccable balance." ~ 91, Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

F. Raveneau Chablis 2007
"The first-ever wine of village appellation chez Raveneau, their 2007 Chablis represents the initial crop from less than a hectare of young vines in the Montmains sector, a mixture of selection massale from the estate with diverse clones. Smelling bitter-sweetly of citrus oil along with hints of lanolin from its brief stay in cask, this comes onto the palate full of ripe peach, pineapple, and citrus and strikingly delicate and energizing, yet alluringly creamy in texture . . . . a real charmer, with plenty of zesty and herbal subtlety and a buoyant, refreshing finish." ~ David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate

Verget Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes 2006
"From 70-year-old vines. Expressive aromas of flint, smoke and pepper, plus an exotic whiff of banana. Fat, sweet and superrich, with exotic mango and passion fruit flavors leavened by strong rocky minerality." ~ 91-94, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Pierre Matrot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes 2004
". . . big, powerful and intense flavors that retain a fine sense of focus and deliver immense length. This is almost painfully intense and really stains the palate with dry extract and has the extra dimension of the 'wow' factor." ~ 93, Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Huet Vouvray Le Mont Demi-Sec 2002
". . . these two wines are clearly two of the greatest white wines I have ever had the pleasure to taste! The 2002 Le Mont Demi-Sec soars from the glass in a stunning aromatic constellation of orange, sweet quince, brilliantly complex minerality, incipient notes of honeycomb, orange zest and dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and racy, with bottomless depth at the core, laser-like focus, gem-like brilliance and simply stunning length and grip on the complex and so magically elegant finish. This is both more refined and more complex than the superb 2002 Le Haut Lieu Demi-Sec!" ~ 96, John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Trimbach Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile 2001
". . . is seeming to add both depth and dimension on the palate. This is clearly one of the reference point, great recent vintages for Cuvée Frédéric Émile . . . . very deep and impressive in its mélange of grapefruit, tart apples, plenty of petrol, sea salts, wet stone minerality and a bit of lemon grass in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid, with a bit more mid-palate core than the lovely 2002 Fred, with brisk acids, great focus and impeccable balance on the very long, stony and intense finish. This is a terrific vintage of Cuvée Frédéric Émile . . ." ~ 94, John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Vincent Dauvissat Chablis La Forest 2001
"Highly aromatic nose combines white flowers, spices, licorice and lemon. Extremely young but already impressively perfumed in the mouth; its incisiveness comes more from minerality than from acidity. Another extremely young wine that offers superb length . . ." ~ 90+, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Diel Dorsheimer Pittermännchen Riesling Spätlese 2001
"A wash of wet stones and minerals greet the senses, while the flavors turn to peach, nectarine and orange accents in this lightweight, intense Riesling. Racy and creamy at the same time. [Only] 50 cases imported." ~ 92, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator

William Fèvre Chablis Les Preuses 2000
". . . understated in personality with terrific minerality and the finish is wonderfully sappy, pure and painfully intense. I very much like this as it delivers outstanding flavor authority yet with style and grace. A beautiful effort." ~ 94, Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

E. Burn Riesling Goldert Clos Saint Imer La Chapelle 2000
"The intense aromatics of the 2000 Riesling Clos St.-Imer La Chapelle Goldert reveal liquid minerals. Medium-bodied, this silky-textured offering exhibits loads of ruby-red grapefruits, candied lemons, minerals, and pears. This [is] well-focused, concentrated, and long wine . . ." ~ 92, Pierre Rovani, The Wine Advocate
