| "The estate of Max Ferdindnad Richter has been passed down from father to son for the past 300 years. The current reins are held by Dr. Dirk Richter, the 9th generation, and will eventually be passed down to his son Constantin. The estate produces world-class Rieslings from some of the most esteemed vineyards in the Mosel, and all production comes from estate holdings. The terroir of their steep vineyard sites is generally gray slate with different compositions of ferruginous (in Brauneberg), mineral quartz (in Veldenz), or clay (in Graach, Wehlen, and Mülheim) soils; these soils deeply influence character and flavor of the wines. Strict attention to quality and detail is paid to all vines from the QBAs on up through the Eisweins. Through the entire line of wines, their hallmark balance is evident in every glass."

| | | "The 2021 Richter Estate Riesling (or Riesling Feinherb in some markets) offers a clear and aromatic bouquet of ripe and savory Riesling fruit intertwined with coolish flinty notes. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a savory and salty, very charming and mouth-filling Riesling with stimulating grip and the concentration of partly very old vines cultivated in the cooler side valleys that give more acidity than the vineyards in the main Mosel Valley. This is a convincing, textured and very quaffable Riesling with a stimulating saline finish. 10.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022."
