The story of the Compañía Vinícola del Norte del España (CVNE) begins in 1879 in the small village of Haro in Rioja. It was then that two brothers (Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa) started a négociant business buying and blending young wines. Within 6 years CVNE was already winning international awards, and by 11 years of age CVNE was able to contract the famous Aleixandre Gustave Eiffel to construct their new wine cellar, thus beginning their lifelong affiliation with the arts. Today, CVNE is still managed by the same family, now in its fifth generation. The winery now consists of three different bodegas, Cune, Contino, and Viña Real: each offering a unique journey through the vineyards of Rioja. |
