Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese 2012
"The very classy nose offers up a mix of pear, tangerine, apple pie spice tones, slate, orange blossoms and bee pollen. On the palate the wine is deep, medium-full and suave, with lovely focus and nascent complexity, lovely mid-palate depth, bright acids and very good length and grip on the finish. A very pretty wine that will drink well with only a few years of bottle age, but will have no problems aging long and gracefully as well."
93 John Gilman, View From the Cellar

Ken Wright Cellars Pinot Noir Carter Vineyard 2013
"Endowed with layers of ripe plum, dark berry, dried flowers and savory, meaty nuances, this medium-weight wine has tremendous presence and harmony, right through the long and expressive finish."
93 Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator

Tollot-Beaut Aloxe-Corton Les Vercots 2011
“Packed with cherry, tar and spice aromas and flavors, this muscular version is smooth, with a dusty bite to the tannins. Juice and long, offering a pure cherry highlight on the aftertaste.”
91 Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator

Domaine de Courcel Pommard Grand Clos des Épenots 2010
"Good bright full red. Deep, nuanced aromas of red berries, spices and underbrush. Rich, vinous and deep, with sweet redcurrant fruit lifted by peppery spices. Shows terrific vivacity and precision in spite of its modest acidity . . . no doubt due to the whole-cluster fermentation. This generous, sensual wine finishes with fine but seriously gripping tannins."
93+ Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Thierry et Pascale Matrot Corton Hospices de Beaune Cuvée Charlotte Dumay 2009
This Grand Cru Corton cuvée is a blend of grapes from Les Renardes and Les Bressandes. The land, which comprises over 100 ouvrées of vines in Aloxe, was gifted to the Hospice in 1534 by the childless Charlotte Dumay, “for the cure and salvation of her soul.”

Michel Gaunoux Pommard Grands Épenots 2003
"From a large 1.74 ha parcel. The initial hints of secondary aromas can be discerned though the plum, red currant and blue berry liqueur aromas are still reasonably fresh and not at all roasted in character. The rich, full-bodied and concentrated flavors possess good power but again, the mouth feel is quite sophisticated, especially in the context of the vintage. An elegant but built-to-age 2003."
93 Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

Clos Dubreuil 2012
"Another inky, opaque, purple-colored wine with beautiful blackcurrant, black raspberry, licorice and earthy undertones, this full-bodied, opulent, dense, rich 2012...is a tour de force in this vintage."
95 Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate

Clos Dubreuil Cuvée Anna 2012
“Concentrated aromas and flavors of ripe black plums and cherries with dark chocolate notes. Full body, refined yet firm tannins, fresh acidity and a long, peppery finish.”
93 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

Le Clarence de Haut-Brion 2010
". . . lots of fruit. Plums, berries and jam. Full body, with a fluid center palate and chewy tannins. Round and rich."
94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

DSG Rioja Tinto Phinca Lali 2010
"The 2010 Phinca Lali, named after David [Sampedro Gil]’s mother, is a single vineyard wine. The percentage of grapes is approximately 85% Tempranillo and the 15% Graciano and Viura. As quantities are very small, they can afford to destem the grapes by hand and ferment in two open 500-liter barrels where the grapes are foot trodden until fermentation finishes. Malolactic fermentation was carried out during the following spring and the wine completed its upbringing over two years in barrel. The nose and the wine’s profile are very similar to the Phinca Abejera with strong balsamic notes of Mediterranean herbs, nutmeg, potpourri and eucalyptus (again the Graciano?) and a compact palate where the Tempranillo takes over and adds all its meat to the verticality of the Graciano. This creates a superb blend with power and freshness, pungent acidity and great persistence. A great, unusual wine of strong personality. Bravo! [Only] 1,000 bottles produced."
94 Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate

Rocche dei Manzoni Barolo Big'd Big 2008
"The 2008 Barolo Big'd Big is a dark, inward wine. Smoke, licorice, tobacco and smoke add complexity to the seriously intense core of dark red fruit. This is the most muscular and sinewy of the 2008 Baroli from Rocche dei Manzoni . . . . The sheer integrity of the fruit is striking, as is the huge, dramatic finish. Hints of iron and tar linger in the empty glass."
93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Château La Gomerie 2008
". . . silky textures and floral, licorice, plum, oak and spice filled aromatics is a winner. The wine is refined opulence and ends with a clean fresh, black velvet finish."
93 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider

Château Haut Bailly 2007
“Shows complex aromas of dark fruits, with bitter chocolate and floral notes. Full-bodied, with pretty, silky tannins. Very well-integrated and long. Builds on the palate.”
