CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL BLANC 2015
“Exotic aromas of sliced mangoes and green papaya with undertones of pebbles and lemon rind. Full-bodied and dense — showing plenty of phenolic tension — yet this remains vivid and bright. Dried fruits such as apricots and lemons come to the surface on the palate. Dense and complex wine. Drink or hold for many years ahead.”

GOULÉE BY COS D’ESTOURNEL 2009
"Best ever from here. Wonderful aromas of currants and plums, with hints of jam. Full and super fine, with a lovely texture and a long flavorful and focused finish.”

PAGODES DE COS 2014
"The intensity of plums, spices, mushrooms and black truffles is very impressive. Full body, firm and silky tannins and a savory finish. Delicious second wine already."

PAGODES DE COS 2009
"The brilliant 2009 Pagodes de Cos actually has more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend than the grand vin (69% versus 65%) in addition to mostly Merlot and a small quantity of Petit Verdot. As powerful as the Cos . . . the full-bodied, round, generous Pagodes de Cos exhibits lots of creme de cassis and floral notes intermixed with hints of wood/barrique and spice. Juicy, succulent and remarkably fresh and well-delineated, it merits considerable attention from consumers . . . . the second wine is superior to many vintages of Cos in the 1960s 1970s and 1980s."

CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL 2014
“If you want to know what Saint-Estèphe smells like, this is it. Aromas of spices, black truffles, forest floor, dried strawberries and tar. It’s full-bodied yet pinpointed on the palate with fabulous density and richness. It’s opulent but in a reserved and checked way. This needs at least five or six years to come around, but it’s already fantastic. What harmony and structure.”

CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL 2008
“All the right elements are here. The wine is powerful, but has a wonderful lift of fresh fruit, spiced with wood but never too much. The tannins are sweet, ripe and delicious. It shows both gorgeous fruit and a dense structure.”

CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL 2003
“A dense and powerful wine as always with very ripe fruit yet an underlying freshness and complexity with tobacco, dried fruit and fresh spices such as lemon grass and Thai basil. Layered and long. Drink or hold.”

CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL 2000
“Blended of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2000 Cos d'Estournel is deep garnet in color with a touch of brick and sporting a lot of tertiary evolution on the nose. It leaps from the glass with opulent sandalwood, Chinese five spice, cigar box and leather scents over a core of prunes, baked cherries, dried mulberries and eucalyptus plus a touch of potpourri. Medium-bodied, the palate is laden with fragrant fruitcake and exotic spice layers, framed by wonderfully plush tannins and a refreshing line, finishing with an exhilarating menthol lift.”

CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL 1995
“A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'Estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age . . .”

CHÂTEAU COS D’ESTOURNEL 1985
“Tasted 8 times since bottling with consistent notes. The 1985 is cast from the same mold as the 1982 and 1953 vintages. Forward, with a fabulously scented bouquet of toasty new oak and concentrated red and black fruits (especially black-cherries), it is rich, lush, long, and full-bodied. Already delicious, it should age beautifully . . .”

HÉTSZŐLŐ TOKAJI ASZÚ 5 PUTTONYOS 2001
“. . . medium golden yellow color with 7 millimeter clear meniscus; nice, lifted, tart apricot, tart orange, ripe lemon, botrytis nose; tight, tasty, poised, silky textured, tart apricot, tart orange palate with good acidity . . . long finish.”
