Château La Louvière Blanc
"Mainly sauvignon blanc (85 percent) grown in deep gravel and limestone soils, this wine marries the cool elegance of Bordeaux with flavors that nearly explode out of the glass. The aroma is complex, layering scents of fennel, thyme and jasmine over a mineral note of lobster broth. That mineral stoniness continues for minutes in a finish that carries the spice and fresh herb scents along with it. Denis Dubourdieu consults on this wine for the Lurton family, with tremendous results in the 2006 vintage."

Margaux de Brane 2015
“Owned by Henri Lurton, one of several Lurtons to own property in Margaux, this estate is performing in high gear . . . . rich and concentrated with solid tannins as well as generous blackberry fruits. It will be impressive as it ages.”

Baron de Brane 2015
“Super-ripe dark cherry, chocolate, plum, new leather, sweet French oak, licorice, smoke and new leather infuse the 2015 Baron de Brane. Dark, supple and inviting, with no hard edges, the 2015 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. There is lovely depth and succulence here."

Château Brane-Cantenac 2015
“The 2015 Brane-Cantenac is powerful, structured and explosive in feel. A deep, resonant wine, the 2015 boasts off the charts ripeness allied to formidable structure and tannic heft. I imagine the 2015 is going to need a number of years to become approachable and more than that to be at its best. The dark stone fruit, smoke, tobacco, spice and leather flavors pack a huge punch, but it is the wine's balance that places it among the elite on the Left Bank in 2015. Brane-Cantenac is a total pleasure bomb. I can't wait to taste it with a little bottle age.”

Château Brane-Cantenac 2010
“With a gorgeously evolved, extremely complex bouquet of forest floor, spring flowers, lead pencil shavings and red and black currants, this full-bodied, dense, ruby/plum/purple-colored wine hits the palate with an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied richness, silky tannins, and a very layered, profoundly concentrated style that is, at the same time, both powerful and sublime. This gorgeous wine from proprietor Henri Lurton will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and evolve for 25-30 years.”

Château Brane-Cantenac 2009
“A spectacular effort from this estate rivaling their 2005, but more flashy/flamboyant, this dark ruby/purple wine has a strikingly intense nose of licorice, flowers, plums and dark berries. Medium to full-bodied, very approachable and silky, this suave, very sexy wine can be drunk early on as well as aged . . ."

Château Brane-Cantenac 2006
“I can’t say enough about how beautifully classic, racy, and gracious the wines of Brane-Cantenac have become over the last decade. The stunningly elegant 2006 exhibits a sweet, subtle smoke note intermixed with creme de cassis in its medium-bodied style with superb nobility, concentration, and sweet tannin. Possessing a complex, luscious personality with strikingly beautiful, velvety tannins . . ."

Château Brane-Cantenac 2005
“A sexy, style of wine from the Lurtons at Brane-Cantenac, this wine (a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc) has a stunning nose of forest floor, licorice, blackcurrants, plums and spring flowers. Soft tannin, full-bodied opulence and beautifully textured, lush richness, make for a brilliant wine from this large, 180-acre vineyard. In spite of the wine’s stunning forward fragrance and lushness, the color still looks as if it is 3-4 years old, rather than a decade. This is a big-time winner in 2005 . . ."

Château Brane-Cantenac 2000
“Silky, subtle, and layered with delicate flavors that linger on the palate. Brane-Cantenac is never about power but always elegant and balanced with restraint and intensity. The 2000 has a long, delicate finish. Still youthful and able to age for a few decades easily.

Château Brane-Cantenac 1999
“A blend of 45.6% Merlot, 49.1% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5.3% Cabernet Franc (60% of the harvest made it into Brane), this wine has a perfumed, smoky, truffle, black currant-scented nose, medium to full body, sweet tannin, low acidity, and exceptional purity as well as balance. A beauty!"
