You are invited to join Spectrum Wine Auctions and the iconic Château Léoville-Las Cases for a special Summer tasting menu by Chef Richard Blais at Juniper & Ivy in San Diego.

We are honored to be joined for this very special event by Florent Genty of Châteaux Léoville-Las Cases, Nénin, and Potensac.

With history dating back at least to the early 17th century,
Château Léoville-Las Cases is now widely regarded as one of the greatest and most ageworthy wines of Bordeaux.

We will be pouring some of the Château's greatest vintages dating back to the extraordinary 1985 alongside a selection of wines from the wider Domaines Delon portfolio.

David Léclapart Blanc de Blancs L'Amateur Extra Brut 2007
"Light gold. Fresh, energetic, mineral-driven apple and pear aromas, with a hint of peppery watercress. Deep and wine-like, with Poire William and apple flavors showing impressive depth and energy. Finishes with complex herb and mineral notes. A zero-dosage, uncompromising Champagne with impressive focus and serious structure."

Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Château Potensac 2014
“An unusually high proportion of Cabernet Franc in this wine has given it a wonderfully aromatic character. It is a structured, firm wine that is a great success.”

Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

Château Nénin 2005
“A complete and sexy wine with very polished and refined tannins yet there’s an energy and posture that gives the wine such intrigue. Buy it.”

Clos du Marquis 1990
“Drinking this wine now and over the next 7-9 years is like meeting a wine at its perfect maturity. Getting the right drinking window for a wine can be quite tricky - but when the timing is right, you know you are meeting a wine at its very best. A beautiful, silky, expressive Saint-Julien with everything in balance.”

Château Léoville-Las Cases 2010
“A hugely powerful wine, full of dark, brooding tannins. It's a wine for seriously long-term aging, a sculptural vision of classic Bordeaux structure with classy, ripe blackberry fruits. It has fresh acidity and an immense full-bodied character, cut through with mineral acidity. A great wine, with great potential.”

Château Léoville-Las Cases 2005
“This is breathtaking. Black in color, with incredible aromas of crushed blackberry, mineral, licorice and lead pencil. Full-bodied, with a mind-blowing texture of seamless tannins that coat every millimeter of the palate. Goes on and on, with licorice, currant and flowers. Time will tell if it's better than the 2000.”

Château Léoville-Las Cases 1996
“The 1996 Leoville-Las Cases is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc . . . . Now at 20 years, it has evolved into an absolutely stunning Saint Julien, clearly one of the best wines from the estate this decade. The bouquet is beautifully defined with intense black cherries, cedar, mint and a touch of oyster shell that seems to gain intensity in the glass. The palate is seamless from start to finish, extraordinarily pure, the 70% new oak totally assimilated of course, impressive weight and power allied with genuine finesse and tension towards the silky smooth finish. It stands as one of the best wines of the vintage without one iota of doubt and it will last 30-40 years without problem. You might call it ‘proper Claret.’ You might call it ‘delicious.’”

Château Léoville-Las Cases 1989
“Very ripe, with raisin and dried fruits on the nose . . . . Full-bodied, delivering firm tannins and a very fresh palate. Long and flavorful, offering currant, berries and all sorts of dark fruits, but turns lightly earthy and floral. This is a thoroughly complex wine. Just starting to really open into the mature 20-year-old wine it is, but such a great life ahead of it. Muscular.”

Château Léoville-Las Cases 1988
“Wow. Really youthful on the nose, with currant, blackberry and hints of vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and lots of mint and fruit. Goes on for a long time. Surprisingly youthful. Give it a couple of years. So focused and beautiful.”

Château Léoville-Las Cases 1985
“A fabulous wine; one of the first great Las Cases. Full-bodied and rich, with the tannins extremely well integrated into an impressive background of fruit. Give it time.”
