| | "Fully saturated deep ruby. Enticing, slightly high-toned aromas of red cherry, menthol and spicecake pick up considerable depth with aeration. Turns a little austere in the mouth, showing a cooler, almost medicinal edge and a vegetal streak to the flavors of cherry, spices, coffee and herbs. Finishes peppery, clean and precise, with mounting, youthfully mouth-puckering tannins. Though this is hardly a blockbuster, it is turning out much better than the rainy growing season might have suggested.
