| | Cairanne is an appellation for quality red, white and rosé wines from the parish of Cairanne in the southern Rhone Valley in France. The wines were previously classified as 'Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne', but after an extended period where it was seen by many as the most consistently excellent of the villages, it was elevated to cru status in 2016. Thus, the wines produced in this village are now labeled 'Cairanne'. They sit at the same level in the classification hierarchy as well known, location specific names such as Gigondas or Cornas. What this means is that you’re getting Cru level wines, that have been consistently out pacing in quality the ‘Cote du Rhone’ classification for amazing prices. The 2020 Cayran cosists of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre. It truly is an amazing value. |

The long and round finish with good mouthfeel is typical of the Cairanne appellation." 96
