| | For close to 200 years, since 1834, Paul Jaboulet Aine has been part of the wine industry in the Rhone Valley. Jaboulet produces some of the best and most sought-after wines in the Rhone region. Most notably, the Hermitage La Chapelle is the flagship of the winery. ‘Pierre Aiguille’ is named for the erosion-worn mountain that shelters the vineyards that are planted on east-facing terraces below the jagged Dentelles Mountain range in Provence. It is 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre from 40+ year old vines. Although only rated 89 points, the ‘Pierre Aiguille’ punches way above its weight. It is an absolutely delicious wine that tastes like a much higher scoring wine. At only $19, it is hard to go wrong! |
