| "This estate owned by Roberto Bianchi is not only one of the most intriguing wineries in Chianti Classico but is also one of the most convincing wineries in the Radda-in-Chianti zone.
The wines have an unmistakable style: clear, essential, and unhesitating. It is difficult to find an interpretation of Sangiovese so coherent and capable projecting the identity of this region so forcefully ..."Gambero Rosso |
| | | | "Roberto Bianchi crafts his Riserva from a single vineyard. Surrounded by forest, it is the highest of his plots in Radda - and the oldest, with 40- to 45-year-old plantings .... It gradually moves from chestnut, tobacco and earth to rosehip, red berry and liquorice nuances. Mid-weight and graceful, the palate stretches out with long, chalky tannins. A core of cherry and orange zest is supported by bracing acidity and carries on to the finish." 94 Michaela Morris, Decanter Magazine |
| | "Radda is one of the eleven Unità Geografiche Aggiuntives (UGAs) recognized by the Chianti Classico consorzio in 2021. It includes the village of Radda and its surrounding farmland — nearly 20,000 acres, though only 8% of that is planted to vineyards. The rest consists of rugged hills, deep valleys, and dense forests that hug the high, eastern edge of the Chianti Classico zone.
Bianchi’s 20 acres of vines run down the hill from his cellar on east-facing slopes at elevations of around 1,600 feet .... Bianchi’s tiny cellar is cold and damp; it’s crowded with stainless-steel tanks and large botte. I kept my jacket on as we stood at a cluttered shelf to taste his 2018 Chianti Classico. The wine was translucent ruby, with fresh floral scents, pure red cherry flavors, and bracing acidity.
It is exactly this style of wine that drew me to Radda." Stephanie Johnson, Wine & Spirits Magazine

| | | 100% Sangiovese; 40-45-year-old vines planted at high elevation and facing the Pergole Torte site in Radda |
| ‣ "This is an impressive new release from Val delle Corti in Radda-in-Chianti. With only 5,000 bottles released, the 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva shows an immediate level of austerity and complexity that relaxes to display dark fruit, earth, rusty nail, and candied orange peel. There is a Pinot-Noir-esque quality to this wine that makes it very attractive.
I heartily recommend this under-the-radar discovery. Fruit comes from a cool site at 450 meters in elevation with calcareous marl soils with lots of rock. The vines were planted in 1974."94 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate |
