| "... Their whites represent some of the finest that I tasted in Oregon, replete with nervosité and mineralité that would not be out of place in the motherland of Burgundy." Neal Martin, Wine Advocate
|
| | "Evening Land produces some of the best Chardonnay in not only Oregon but all of North America, and their whole lineup showcases the impressive winemaking talents of Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman." International Wine Report |
| | | "Evening Land’s La Source bottling hails from three parcels of vines in the lower section of the Seven Springs Vineyard, all planted on volcanic soils. The wine is aged in Austrian oak puncheons for a year, prior to assemblage and 6 more months in stainless steel, and comes in at 12.9% octane in the 2019 vintage. It offers up a very pretty and refined nose of pear, golden delicious apple, fresh almond, a lovely base of minerality, orange blossom, and a discreet framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, zesty and full-bodied, with a lovely core of fruit, fine mineral drive and cut, an impressive spine of acidity and a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish. This is an excellent bottle of Chardonnay that will age effortlessly." John Gilman, View From The Cellar

| | "Seven Springs’s eastern exposure ensures the vineyard awakens to the warmth of the morning sun. The vineyard’s position opposite the windy Van Duzer Corridor mitigates hot, sunny afternoons in the Willamette Valley with cool winds from the Pacific. As valley temperatures increase throughout the day, warm air rises and is replaced by cooling winds flooding in from the Pacific through the Van Duzer gap and across our vineyard. This daily cooling, along with our eastern aspect, affords our grapes the luxury of extended time on the vine.
Since its inception, Seven Springs has been dry-farmed. The vineyard is LIVE [Low Impact Viticulture & Enology]-certified and was converted to biodynamic viticulture in 2007." Evening Land

| | ▪ "A wine of depth and presence, this Chardonnay offers an array of intriguing flavors, from apple and stony mineral to lemon verbena and blanched almond. Takes on richness toward the steely finish." 94 Tim Fish, Wine Spectator |
| ▪ "The grapes for La Source come from just down the slope in the Seven Springs vineyard from the top-of-the-line Summum bottling, but are tended with the same biodynamic methods, and the fermentation is the same. They are now using 500-Litre Austrian puncheons from Stockinger with a very light toast, and the slightly reductive style still shows the influence of mentor Dominique Lafon." 94 Charles Curtis MW, Decanter |
| | | "We are, first and foremost, faithful stewards of the historic Seven Springs vineyard, planted by Oregon wine pioneer Al MacDonald in 1984. On this dramatic east-facing slope, in the iron-rich and rocky, volcanic soils of the Eola-Amity Hills, Al MacDonald undertook what would become one of Oregon’s most recognized vineyards. Nestled against a forest of Douglas fir with views eastward to Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson, it is immediately evident to any visitor why Al chose this site."
