| "The Fuligni Rosso di Montalcino is a single-vineyard wine from the Ginestreto Cru, which is also partially used in the blend of the estate’s Brunello. The vines here average ten to fifteen years in age and grow in stony soils with a high clay content. In the winery, the Ginestreto spends six months in a combination of tonneaux and Slavonian oak prior to bottling. It’s an excellent introduction to the house style and it’s an excellent value." It’s ripe and generous yet also perfectly balanced, blending wild berry fruit with salty minerals, as zesty acids keep its energy high. There’s a bit of a tannic tug here, but it never gets in the way of this truly enjoyable Rosso; instead it just punctuates the expression perfectly.
