| | | LA SPINETTA TOSCANA ROSATO IL ROSÉ DI CASANOVA 2022 “A blend of musky dried peaches and apricot offset by savory herbs wafts up from the 2022 Il Rosé di Casanova. It's zesty and wickedly fresh, with vibrant acidity and wild citrus notes that excite the senses. The 2022 finishes floral and crisp, showcasing nectarine hints. Il Rose di Casanova is a blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Prugnolo Gentile.” Eric Guido, Vinous $18 → Add To Your Collection

RAÚL PÉREZ LEÓN ROSADO LOS ARROTOS DEL PENDÓN 2022 A wilder, deeper, more gourmand style of rosé, complicated with notes of cherry, raspberry, rose, rhubarb, licorice, and star anise. 100% old-vine, high-altitude Prieto Picudo macerated for two days and finished in tank. A new Llïonés rosé reference point; pair with Ajoarriero. Staff Notes $20 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
MAS CHAMPART SAINT-CHINIAN ROSÉ 2022 “Any occasion I get to drink Mas Champart rosé is an opportunity I relish. Though it may seem trite to compare it to Bandol, at a third of the price and made from 70% Mourvèdre and 30% Cinsault, it’s as close to anything you’ll find that’s worthy of such a comparison. Since it hails from the Languedoc, I love to pair it with Mediterranean-inspired snacks like tinned fish, roasted red peppers, and baba ganoush.” Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant $17 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
ERMITAGE DU PIC SAINT-LOUP PIC SAINT-LOUP ROSÉ 2022 “The 2022 Rosé opens with white cherries, strawberries and fresh mint. It’s softly textured with a balanced inner sweetness. The 2022 displays violet-tinged wild berries and liquid stone nuances. This finishes potent and with decent length. A lump of residual acidity maintains a lovely freshness.” Eric Guido, Vinous $18 → Add To Your Collection ⁝ SESTI TOSCANA ROSATO 2022 “Here is a rare rosé from the land of great reds, from Sangiovese planted within the eminent Brunello di Montalcino appellation. Rarer yet, it is fermented with natural yeasts and completes its malolactic fermentation—that means no inoculation, low sulfur, and no sterile filtration. The result: a refreshing, mouth-filling rosato better suited to fine dining than poolside quaffing. The best pairing I know of - served on the Sestis’ shaded terrace on a warm summer evening - involved ultra-thin slices of beef carpaccio, shaved parmigiano, cracked pepper, a drizzle of olive oil, and an invigorating squeeze of lemon.” Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant $24 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
CHÂTEAU LES MESCLANCES CÔTES DE PROVENCE CUVÉE SAINT HONORAT ROSÉ 2022 “Arnaud et Elisabeth de Villeneuve crafted a classic, elegant 2022 Côtes de Provence Rosé Cuvée Saint Honorat, a blend of 65% Grenache, 21% Cinsault and 14% Mourvèdre, all planted on schist soils and farmed organically. Evoking aromas of red berries, crushed stone, peach and spices, it’s fruity and juicy, perfectly balanced with lively acids and has a mouthwatering finish, offering considerable refreshment value.” Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate $22 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
DOMAINE DU BAGNOL CASSIS ROSÉ 2022 “A mix of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre, the 2022 Cassis Rosé reveals aromas of red berries, lemon, menthol, strawberry and peach. Medium-bodied, fresh and juicy, it’s long and penetrating with a mouthwatering finish.” Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate $26 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
DOMAINE GAVOTY CÔTES DE PROVENCE ROSÉ GRAND CLASSIQUE 2022 “Rather than being pressed immediately after harvest by rote as many Provence rosés are, Grand Classique macerates for several hours before pressing, and the saignée and first-press juice are vinified separately. This allows Roselyn [Gavoty] the flexibility to blend the more succulent and tender saignée with the more angular and architectural press juice in a manner to achieve the precise textural qualities she seeks in her wines. Grand Classique dis plays an uncanny equilibrium, with racy acidity wed to gleaming fruits that are just the right amount of vinous, all buttressed by an elegant, mouthwatering texture.” Rosenthal Wine Merchant $19 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
BISSON PORTOFINO CILIEGIOLO 2021 “It takes a heroic effort to cultivate vines on the steep slopes of the Ligurian coastline high above the Mediterranean Sea. Mechanization of vineyard tasks is out of the question and everything must be done by hand. Only truly passionate winegrowers are willing to carry on the traditions that have come down through the generations since the ancient Greeks first planted vines on the steep, stony slopes here …. Ciliegiolo is a traditional red grape variety that is now rarely seen. Piero Lugano vinifies it to showcase its light and fruity character. When presenting it, we group this wine with our classic series of rosés as it is released in the spring following the prior year’s harvest. It is vinified dry, tastes of red cherry and wild berries and its brilliant cherry color is a particular joy to behold.” Rosenthal Wine Merchant $20 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
ARNOT-ROBERTS PROPRIETARY ROSÉ 2022 “We began making Rosé from Touriga Nacional in 2010. We were compelled by the grape’s deep color, brilliant acidity and aromatic complexity even at low sugar content. Touriga is a late-ripening Portuguese variety that needs some heat to mature, and we have sought out vineyards suited to this hearty variety. The original fruit source came from the rocky volcanic soils of the Luchsinger vineyard, located at 1400′ in the Clear Lake AVA …. The fruit from these vineyard sites is hand-harvested, then lightly crushed by foot to release some color prior to pressing. The juice is fermented with native yeasts and full native malolactic in all stainless steel tanks, then blended together to harmonize prior to bottling in early January.” Arnot-Roberts $26 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
TYLER PINOT NOIR ROSÉ 2022 “From various high quality vineyard sites, our Rosé is composed from the free-run juice afforded to us by simply transporting the vintage’s first Pinot Noir to our cellar. During this short trip across the Sta. Rita at dawn, the Pinot Noir is gently pressed by its own weight, rendering our first taste of the vintage—and the basis for our exceptionally limited rosé. We carry this juice to stainless steel tank and old barrique for fermentation using native yeasts, and then raise the wine in neutral oak for about four months. The wine is unfined and filtered. The resulting wine speaks of the Sta. Rita Hills with unique clarity and tension: it is at once floral and mineral, carried by a through-line of bracing acidity and sea spray.” Tyler $24 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
GEOFFROY BLANC DE ROSÉ DE SAIGNÉE EXTRA BRUT NV “The NV Blanc de Rosé is superb. Rich, effusive and so wonderfully inviting, the Blanc de Rosé checks all the boxes. Sweet floral accents meld into a core of red berry fruit, cinnamon and blood orange.” Antonio Galloni, Vinous $115 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
CAMILLE SAVÈS CUVÉE ROSÉ NV ". . . A better drink today than it has been any time in its history. The deep, complex and wide open nose offers up a vibrant and spicy blend of cherries, blood orange, cinnamon stick, brioche, chalky soil tones and a lovely touch of woodsmoke in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, crisp and full-bodied, with outstanding focus and balance, still very elegant and bouncy mousse, a great base of chalky minerality and outstanding length and grip on the beautiful finish." John Gilman, View From The Cellar $50 → Add To Your Collection ⁝
JÉRÔME PRÉVOST LA CLOSERIE FAC-SIMILE ROSÉ EXTRA BRUT LC18 NV "Disgorged without dosage, the NV Extra Brut Rosé Fac-similie (LC18) bursts with aromas of red berries, plums and spices mingled with freshly baked bread and dried white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and sapid, with delicate structure and an enveloping core of irresistibly succulent fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish. While the Fac-similie shares the charm of its white counterpart, its gently phenolic grip seems to temper some of the exuberance of the vintage."
