Non-profit Ujamaa Collective is seeking Black women artists and makers who create their own quality products to join as members in our cooperative. For over 10 years we have operated a shared economic platform for Black/Africana artisans to market, sell and elevate the value of what our minds and hands create. This includes clothing and other textiles, home décor, jewelry, apothecary and personal care products, paintings and other kinds of visual art, books, and various accessories.
-------------
Our work to create vibrant, mutual exchange with and for Black people is rooted in the values of community, creativity, wellness, fair trade and meaningful work. Ujamaa is both local and global, offering multiple avenues of opportunity for cooperative economics- our artisans’ retail boutique on Centre Avenue, pop-up and seasonal sales events across the region, local and global arts and cultural exchange workshops, financial exchange practices, collaborative production and so much more.
-------------
We invite you to visit our website at www.ujamaacollective.org to learn more about us. Please share this unique opportunity with others. The deadline to apply is Friday, October 1, 2021. The direct link to the membership application can be found at https://forms.gle/RdQ76T2H6dVC7f2b7.
