Location: office location can be Pittsburgh or Greensburg; eligible for mobile status
While full-time remote work is available, frequent travel throughout western PA is required, and during the summer months, the Outdoor Program Specialist is required to frequently be at Camp Redwing in Renfrew, PA
Starting salary: $ 36,000-$38,000

Position Description:
If you have a passion for outdoor education, high adventure, and empowering girls and young women – and you have the experience to back it up, then we want you for our team! When you work at camp, you’ll build your resume with outdoor certifications and real-life leadership, communication, and problem-solving experiences that employers are looking for – all while getting paid.
As a member of the Outdoor Program Team, you will help design, coordinate, and lead large events and outdoor programs which provide a high-quality experience, are girl-driven, and girl-focused. You will ensure that all activities adhere to quality and safety standards, address the needs and interest of members, are consistent with the Girl Scout Mission, and are equally accessible to all girls served by Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania.
As a member of the Outdoor Program Team, you will
- lead the coordination of large outdoor and camp events and programs
- provide support to the Outdoor Program Team
- ensure groups are welcomed and accommodated
- provide superior service and support to customers and rental groups
- coordinate work, supplies, and materials for part-time staff and facilitators
- recruit, train, and manage part-time Activity Specialists and Day Camp Counselors
- plan and run day camp at Camp Redwing (Renfrew, PA)
- implement summer camp programming as needed
- ensure Girl Scout traditions are incorporated into outdoor programs and life at camp
- set up office hours at Camp Redwing to help rentals with the check-in/check-out process from May-September
Qualifications:
- Experience in youth development and outdoor programming required
- This is a field-based position with travel required throughout western PA
- Certifications a plus or a willingness to get certified: First Aid, CPR, AED, archery, canoeing, kayaking, lifeguarding
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Non-traditional work hours to include days, evenings, and weekends
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, proficient in Excel, and ability to learn new systems
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and customer focused
