A taste of gospel, opera, jazz and choral music honoring three turn of the century Homestead residents. In addition, learn how they shaped the performing arts at home and around the world. Park Place AME Church, established in 1883 is the oldest black church in Homestead. We will share our history and how Catherine Gardner, her sister Mary Cardwell Dawson and their cousin Jester Hairston played actvie roles in the church and in the community.
