Beginning in February, in honor of Black History Month, the Pittsburgh Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., will lead a fundraising drive to benefit the August Wilson African American Cultural Center (AWAACC). Join us in this crucial effort to support our cultural home in Pittsburgh!
Campaign runs February 1, 2021 to February 28, 2021.
The D9 organization that raises the most funds during the fundraising drive will have their name prominently displayed on a plaque that will hang inside the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, and all other participating organizations will have their names listed in recognition of their efforts.
All who become members to the AWAACC will have access to:
- Exclusive benefits as an AWAACC member (benefits vary depending on giving level)
- Special benefits throughout the year for those who “STEPS UP” the most
- Invitation to D9 for a special celebration in December 2021 during the We Want the Funk Festival at the AWAACC
Donations of all sizes are acceptable. While you have the option to give a one-time gift, you may find it easier to give a smaller, on-going monthly gift. Members may want to give an annual or monthly donation equivalent to their founding year, i.e. if the chapter was founded in 1913, the annual donation would be $191.30 or $19.13 monthly. All donations given throughout the month of February will be tallied on March 1st, with the Chapter that raises the most dollars being declared the winner.
