In 1870, Black people in Pittsburgh hosted the Jubilee pf Freemen Parade celebrating the passage of the 15th Amendment granting Black people the Right to Vote. Over 5,000 people attended this celebration that marched from Downtown Pittsburgh, through the Hill District over to Allegheny City back into Market Square.
This original Jubilee Parade was organized into Division — Allegheny | Birmingham | Pittsburgh | Out-of-Town Guest. We will organize the 2020 Parade in the same format.
