F.A.M.E. ACADEMY INFORMATION MEETINGS What is F.A.M.E. Academy? The F.A.M.E. Academy is a rigorous, 3-year pipeline program designed to provide promising African American students with limited financial resources the academic resources and opportunity they need to succeed at challenging educational institutions. The FAME Academy works closely with middle school students as they complete an accelerated academic curriculum during a 6-week summer program with Saturday sessions throughout the school year. Who is eligible to apply?
Qualifications for Admission Include: 1) Currently enrolled in 6th grade (5th grade students and below can be placed on Waiting List) 2) Residence in the Greater Pittsburgh area 3) Proven academic success in current school 4) Interested in developing leadership skills 5) Financial need 6) Self-motivation and the ability to succeed in an accelerated learning environment 7) Commitment to full program participation 8) Submission of a complete program application (available at the meetings) 9) Interest in attending an independent school |
