Ten years before the Civil War ended and slavery was abolished, Dollar Bank opened its doors to Free Men in their first step towards financial independence.
As part of its commitment to inclusion and diversity, Dollar Bank celebrates Black History Month by recognizing the contributions of African-Americans in our local and regional communities.

rich cultural history on

at Dollar Bank Heritage Center,

View original signature books, bank ledgers, and other artifacts from the Civil War era of prominent African-American residents. Learn more about local history and tour the historic Dollar Bank Heritage Center located in downtown Pittsburgh, in the Bank’s Fourth Avenue Building.
