More than 100 years ago, the Pittsburgh Courier established its legacy through a political fight for African-Americans' civil rights. It informed the public and set the agenda.
Now, a panel of journalists will look back on that legacy as it weighs the current role of the black press in an evolving media landscape, especially in today's polarizing political and social climate.
You are cordially invited to
"Building on a Legacy: A Look at
the Pittsburgh Courier’s
Impact & the Evolution of the Black Press."
Panelists are as follows:
- Rod Doss, editor and publisher of the New Pittsburgh Courier
- Tené Croom, PR specialist and chair of the National Association of Black Journalists’ Black Press Task Force
- Jesse Washington, senior writer, ESPN.com’s The Undefeated
- Damon Young, co-founder of VerySmartBrothas.com
