The Union of African Communities in Southwestern Pennsylvania (UACSWPA) is the umbrella community base 501c3 organization that represents all the African communities in Southwestern PA. UASWPA was founded by the African Community leaders in 2007 to be the voice of the Africans, symbolize unity and linkages.
Since then UACSWPA has been very instrumental in educating its member communities as they cope to integrate in their new home. UACSWPA annually has many events promoting the diversity of our region among which are diversity festival, soccer tournament, speaker’s series etc.
This year UACSWPA announces its second event in their speaker series called “Bridging the Gap”. The purpose of this extraordinary series is to discuss ways of:
“Fostering unity, establishing peaceful coexistence and imbibing socio-economic interactions” between African immigrants, African Americans and Afro-Caribbean’s in our region.
This session is focused on Socio-Economic Empowerment
that will be held at:
Duquesne University > Bayer’s Hall
Date: June 6, 2015
Time: 2pm – 5pm
The speakers/panelist to this event represents the African Immigrants, African Americans and the Afro-Caribbean’s. It’s also an opportunity to network and share experiences in narrowing the gap.
