Hi Friend,

Just finished day 3 of the Smartphone Video Marketing 5 Day Challenge. Today we learnt about how best to be seen and heard whilst filming video with your smartphone.

Being Seen. What to look for with natural lighting. How to position yourself so as soft natural light shines your way and makes you shine on camera.

And what about being heard?

All this time, you had a great audio device that wasn’t being used to the best of its
ability.

Paperclips, tape or buttonholes, all devices that you can use to conceal your
headphone microphone and improve the audio quality of your video.

With great lighting and a concealed microphone in place, your smartphone video
just stepped up a level in production, ensuring a more enjoyable experience for the viewer.

If you missed any of the live show that covered these subjects, you can watch it on catchup here.

And now for your homework.

Your lighting homework is to play around with different film locations and understand the light levels. Also consider what time of the day it is, as the sun and natural light is an evolving thing. We want you to know what location you can go to at what time of the day should you want to shoot a video.

As for audio, come up with a system that makes it easy for you to set-up your
headphone microphone and get the best recorded audio quality as possible.

Simple as. Now go play, explore and enjoy.

And don’t forget tomorrow’s live show is all about 'Lights, Action, Action.'

Tomorrow is the day you record your smartphone video using all the tips and tricks you have learnt over the last 3 days.

It is going to be an emotional one.
Thanks
