Last Wednesday was the first session of the  Slim Quest Advanced Support programme and the  focus was  on Self- Image.

Did you know that if you have a negative self image of yourself then regardless of what you do you will probably sabotage your weight loss efforts and that's one of the reasons some people could do all the right things and still end up piling pounds on.  

A negative body image is a distorted image of yourself, and is reflective of your self-esteem. Research shows that many people struggle to lose weight when they have a negative body image, and that improving how they perceive their body can make their weight loss efforts more successful.

When you feel proud of your body and have realistic views and expectations for it, your self image improves. People with positive body images may occasionally feel self-conscious, but they always appreciate their bodies.

Consider the situation where you see your body as fat & ugly,  how motivated would you be to change and even if you do you will probably end up sabotaging your success anyway as at some level you would believe you don't deserve it.

To appreciate your body more concentrate on the positive things you feel about yourself and design your own body image as opposed to looking at images of models on magazines. Start surrounding yourself with people who can contribute to your new habits and healthy lifestyle.
