One client of mine who describes herself as a happy, carefree person who one day discovered that she had let a lot of weight creep up on her without noticing. The day she noticed was the day she described as “waking up fat.”
She decided to diet. She lost weight and was delighted with the results, but not for long. She gained all the weight back. In fact, she gained back more weight than she lost. She went on another diet and started the roller coaster with the same yo-yo results.
Then she decided that exercise was the key and did the worst thing someone who hasn’t exercised can do – she joined a gym. Paid her yearly membership fee up front and stopped going after a month of intensive exercise. Then it was another diet and a start of the same pattern and results all over again.
Then one, fateful day she discovered her husband was having an affair with their neighbour. The pain of the betrayal engulfed her. She wound up divorcing her husband but the emotional eating continued. According to her, she ate even more to escape the pain and hit “rock bottom.”
She had gained 4 stone more than the day she “woke up fat.” Life was not happy for her anymore . . . until she got a call from an old friend from back home who called to alert her about an upcoming “high school reunion.”
They hadn’t spoken in years but were exchanging life stories and she opened up to her old friend that she had put on a lot of weight and had tried everything with no luck. Her friend asked her, “Have you tried hypnosis?” She said she had not.
Her friend told her about the Slimquest programme and how she had lost weight with it and also managed to keep it off. Her friend’s story intrigued her and she contacted me to work with her on her weight.

When i started working with her she was very skeptical at first that this could even help. But she kept at it and she began to lose weight. In fact, over a 3-month period she lost over 4.5 stone with just another stone to go to get to her goal weight.
The best part, according to her, was that she wasn’t “denying herself anything” as she did on all her diets. It just seemed natural to think more healthfully about food and exercise as a result of the programme
She ended up reaching her goal and went on to meet her now husband at the high school reunion and is happier than ever.
