Melbourne GABS 2016

I  had the hard job of spending a few days in Melbourne at GABS and I did not take my job lightly. So much ground to cover and so little time. Sydney is in for its second year of Gabs this weekend and it is worth checking out. There are 120 specialty beers brewed just for the event. From the weird and wonderful to outright crazy in concepts that only a mad scientist could come up with. Batch did a "Marrickville Pork Roll" beer based on a Vietnamese Pork Roll, we had Imperial Iced Vo Vo, Trifle, Choc Banana Split and so on.
A lot of outstanding beers and not a lot of time to cover everything. Pirate Life did a triple IPA at 14% which gets a little scary with that alcohol but it was well balanced and not as intimidating as I imagined. Then there are the 50+ stands around with brewers to meet and more beers to try. For those that like "Sours" & "Ciders" there are stands for those as well. A Lot of upcoming Brands to keep an eye out for as well. Chur Brewing Co, Parrotdog & Funk Estate from NZ are worth checking out.
So if your heading to GABS this weekend let them know your a customer of ours and tell me about any beer that was a standout for yourselves.

Jason's Top 5 Beers Worth Trying at GABS:
1. Chur Cheech & Chong (Is actually 2 beers that you combine to make one)
2. Pirate Life Loose Lips Sink Ships Triple IPA
3. Brewcult Gingerbread Maniac
4. Sixpoint C.R.E.A.M ( Coffee Blonde)
5.Bridge Road Brewers Creek (Sour, Sour, Sour)
