Tim Smith Bugalugs Grenache 2015-Barossa Valley
Vine prides itself on championing this fantastic grape which was nearly pulled out to extinction in parts of South Australia.
Tim Smith is an absolute genius in putting together a wine of such quality but being probably over critical as the winemaker can pay dividends if you are the consumer.
Medium bodied with youthful, juicy plums and maraschino cherries sweetness held in unison with dusty drying tannins.

Elysian Springs Spring Lamb Syrah 2015-Adelaide Hills
Amazing how a new wine never seen before or virtually unknown can randomly turn up in a Vine tasting panel and steal the limelight as this one did.
The wine displays lifted red florals and subtle red fruits with white pepper nuances. The palate is deep somewhat reductive but with a little Nike Swish (Air Time) the layers of flavour expand to dark chocolate and anise with some gamey wild notes.
An absolute belter for the money!

This unusual blend of Nero d’Avola, Negroamaro both Italian varieties mixed with a splash of Tinta Berroca (a Portugese lesser known grape) combined to produce a savoury ever so quaffable style.
Dark currants, sour cherry with an inviting herbal lift with gravel like tannin makes this a great food pair with braised beef dishes and winter stew.

This is the new age of winemaking styles for the hipsters and “Natural” wine movement whilst not totally “Natural” it’s clean and true to style with no filtration or fining giving the wine depth and funk.( not just a winemaker with faulty wine, a huge beard and a pair of gum boots).
Layers and Layers of finely tuned ripe blueberry, black cherry with some earthy notes on a back bone of grippy yet inviting tannins.
