Hi Friend

This Friday 4th October from 5pm we will have the pleasure of  welcoming back Bruce Dukes (Winemaker/Owner) of Domaine Naturaliste of Margaret River fame.
Bruce has an abundance of knowledge in anything vinous  and has won a host awards for his artisan wines that are expressive of site with a minimal intervention approach.
Bruce is a very humble and  approachable personality who enjoys advancing all wino enthusiasts about his beloved Margaret River.
Please come and support Vine's "Meet the Winemaker" events.

Domaine Naturaliste wines mirror the excitement of the discovery of our Margaret River region. The wheel emblem embraces direction, stability and balance. Qualities which we find admirable in life and wine. The Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge is the uplifted coastal ridge where Margaret River’s vines grow. This area is home for Bruce, his wife Wendy and sons Oscar and Tim. It is our viticultural Domaine.
The Margaret River Wine Region is cradled to the west and north by the Indian Ocean, and to the south by the Great Southern Ocean. The large mass of ocean surrounding the region contributes to a maritime climate, of cool wet winters and warm dry summers. Winter rains swept in from the Great Southern Ocean provide plentiful and pure water, while the warm dry Indian summers provide low disease pressures and idyllic growing
conditions.

Margaret River’s maritime climate is intrinsic to our story because it has a profound influence on grape growing and our daily lives. The ships wheel also links the maritime environment to the role of the winemaker; that is to gently guide the grapes on their journey to wine.
The steering wheel is supported by a fine thread, with elements of climate and culture hanging off wheel. A fine balance must be achieved between the vines, weather, and the culture of food and wine. The balancing wheel also suggests the North American Dream catcher, reflecting in part, an element from Bruce’s study and work in the American wine industry in the 1990’s.
Bruce and Wendy thoroughly enjoyed working with Australian artist, Brett Leyton on our Discovery and Direction branding.
