On Tasting This Friday
Meet the Winemaker - Kym Teusner
Kym was raised on a sheep and cereal farm on the banks of The Murray River. His love for wine came later whilst studying business management in Adelaide. No sooner than his business studies were complete, Kym was boarding a plane, headed to the wine regions of Napa, Sonoma and The Rhône.
Kym returned to study Oenology at the University of Adelaide, later undertaking an internship at Torbreck and then a winemaking role upon graduation where he worked alongside soon to be business partner, Michael Page.
Teusner Wines launched in 2002 and 2008 saw the first full-time vintage for Teusner Wines, culminating in the construction of his own, bespoke winery in Nurioopta. Key to Kym’s philosophy – the wines are made by hand at every stage with each separate parcel treated individually.
Twenty years on, Teusner Wines has grown in reputation and stature, recognised as a key player in the region.
